Great program, cosiness, good food & drink and lots of funny moments.

The best description for our company event in 2023.

5 days, 2 countries!

On Wednesday September 20th, 2023 we got out of bed early in the morning to catch the bus at 5:30 towards Styria. With the Wagner bus company from St. Oswald we took the highway to one of the largest wood refiners in Austria. During a very interesting and exciting company tour, we gained insights into the company Hasslacher Norica Timber. At lunchtime we stopped at the GH Gollner in Lebring. The tasting was a highlight – especially the gigantic cardinal slice.

We then went along the South Styrian Wine Route towards Maribor, the second largest city in Slovenia, where we spent the first night.

On Thursday September 21st, 2023 we drove to the capital of Slovenia. There an interesting city tour with a trip to the castle, southern and warm flair as well as fun and action in the WOOP Arena awaited us. A great combination of sightseeing, information as well as games and fun.

The early bird catches the worm. At 8:30 a.m. on Friday we left for Koper. Every year, we ship many containers around the world. Therefore, it was very interesting for us to visit this southern port and learn more about the history and importance of the port for Slovenia.

It got cool in the afternoon. In the Postojna Caves we were guided through the second largest accessible stalactite caves in the world, well cooled at around 10 degrees Celsius. The tour was entertaining, interesting and humorous. Thanks to Micah.

The Postojna Caves are a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It’s absolutely impressive what a miracle nature has created here. The olm is the special animal in this cave – it goes without food for a whole 10 years and its heart only beats twice per minute. It’s unbelievable how this animal has adapted to the conditions of the cave and the underworld in order to live.

On Saturday it was time to slowly set off for home. The weather was moderate – it was raining – so instead of Bled we visited the gunsmith and hunting museum in Ferlach before we really went for it on the indoor kart track in Feistritz im Rosenthal. That was a blast. Exciting races, some bruises and sore muscles were part of it, but it didn’t dampen the mood. The lap times were of course evaluated and the winners celebrated. Andi & Andi & Anton – Congratulations.

After this event we took the bus along the Nockalm panorama road towards Innerkrems – the last stop of the trip.

There we laughed, danced and celebrated Christian’s birthday until the early hours of the morning. The mood was exuberant and we were incredibly grateful for this great trip.

It’s nice that we were able to experience this together. See you on Monday at the company.
