The Vienna Christmas tree was felled in the Bohemian Forest on October 28, 2020. The Christmas tree comes from Upper Austria every 9 years. A special day – for us too.

After examining the trunk block with Johannes Wohlmacher – Stift Schlägl and Ing.Rupert Fartacek – district forester, we can process parts of this spruce into tonewood.

The tree is around 30 meters high, over 200 years old and stood on the edge of the Nordkammweg in the triangle of countries Germany, Austria and Czech Republic.

It took a lot of helping hands to cut this tree and get it ready for transport.

We are happy that part of this tree can still be heard in musical instruments around the world and glad that the fairy lights will shine on this tree during Christmas time in Vienna.
